Installation is estimated between 90-120 minutes. A "do-it-yourself" installation is estimated between 120-200 minutes. This estimation does not include the time associated with reprogramming the navigation radio. Professional installation is recommended.
Q: Will I need to reprogram my factory radio?
A: Yes. You'll need a tech 2 tool (handheld OBDII Programmer) available at GM dealers. If the dealer is not familiar with the programming, have them contact GM's radio repair center and ask how to turn on the back-up camera input.
Q: Are the wire lengths sufficient for a crew cab 6.5' box?
A: Yes
Q: Will this fit a 2007 classic gmc 3500?
A: Yes it will work as long as it has comp/temp in the mirror.
Q: My tailgate handle doesn't have a lock - are handles available without the hole for the lock, or can a lock be added?
A: Our bezel has a hole for tailgates with locks. We also provide a plug in our kit to cover up the hole in the handle if you don't have a lock. You can also add the lock cylinder (GM# 25775278) from your local dealer, if you wish to have a locking tailgate.

Great product and easy install Review by SteveO
Price Value Quality I have had this in my truck (08 GMC 2500HD Duramax) for almost a year with no problems at all. The install was pretty easy thanks to the detailed instructions, probably more time consuming than anything because you have to pull the radio and take the dash apart to get it out. There are only just a few wires to hook up from the harness supplied. This is the same unit that you would pay double for at the dealer, the harness supplied is OEM and the tailgate bezel for the camera matches and fits perfectly.
I am very happy with this kit and have recommended it numerous times to guys on GM forums. If you are looking for an OEM camera to work with your factory navigation without paying the high dealer price, look no further. Buy it! (Posted on 2/21/11)
