Customization Case Studies
Railport Overhead Rail System
Designed for Johnson Controls, the Railport Overhead Rail System is an award-winning example of using mass customization to turn unused real estate into a money making area of high-value personalization in a vehicle. Brandmotion Solutions designed the business model, multiple products, and set up a optimized distribution channel for the modules for the JCI system.
Magellan FD71 Navigation Unit
Brandmotion approached Magellan with an idea - what if we crossed a $2,000 OEM in-dash Navigation system with a $200 portable navigation device? The answer was a very popular low cost navigation system for the Ford F-150 that looked like an original equipment option - but could be installed by the consumer in three minutes.
Hummer H3 Seatport Utility Pack
When Hummer wanted to offer unique new zones of customization for one of the worlds most accessorized vehicles, it turned to Brandmotion. Designed as a removable storage device, the SeatPort Utility Pack looked and performed great in the truck and as a backpack.
Whirlpool Central Park
We really didn’t intend to take our ideas on developing product “real estate” beyond the auto industry, but Whirlpool presented a terrific challenge and opportunity: how might we apply our model for personalization to the standard household refrigerator? The result was “centralpark”, Whirlpool’s largest-ever media event when it debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2008. Optional Interchangeable modules we helped develop included a digital picture frame, iPod dock, weather station and digital whiteboard.
