Integration Technician – Automotive Electronics
The Brandmotion Integration Technician is a hands-on technical specialist responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of automotive aftermarket product launches. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products are installable, reliable, and customer-ready before release.
You’ll work directly with Product Development, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Sales, performing prototype installations, validation testing, documentation creation, and in-field technical support. This is an ideal role for someone with strong 12-volt automotive electronics experience who enjoys problem-solving, hands-on work, and cross-functional collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Builds, Testing & Validation
- Perform vehicle installations, functional testing, wire harness validation, and component verification
- Execute testing aligned with ISO 16750, automotive durability standards, and internal validation protocols
- Identify technical issues and provide corrective feedback to Engineering and Quality teams
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective action development
Installation Instructions & Technical Documentation
- Create clear, customer-ready installation instructions using step-by-step photography and documentation
- Partner with Product Development to ensure accuracy, clarity, and usability
- Maintain documentation through product revisions, supplier changes, and engineering updates
Technical Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Diagnose field issues, customer complaints, and RMAs
- Provide technical support via phone, email, and web platforms
- Support Operations and Quality in resolving production-related technical challenges
Product Development & Launch Support
- Perform first-article installations of new products, components, and supplier samples
- Provide manufacturability, installation, and serviceability feedback during pilot builds
- Participate in engineering reviews and product launch readiness assessments
Operations & Production Support
- Assist production teams with complex builds, custom configurations, and technical roadblocks
- Validate BOMs, wiring diagrams, harness routing, and assembly processes
- Support continuous improvement of production quality and efficiency
Sales, Training & Field Support
- Provide technical guidance for sales demos, pilots, and customer installations
- Perform onsite installations and in-field repairs at customer locations
- Participate in internal and external product training sessions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years in a technical or product support position
- Product knowledge in aftermarket 12-volt car audio / electronics
- Understanding of vehicle electrical architecture
- Hands-on experience in automotive electronics, mechanics, or installation
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to communicate instructions and troubleshoot and resolve customer issues through phone, electronically, and in person
- Ability to learn quickly and through self-study of technical documents and instructions
- Strong computer and technical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written means
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Can-do positive attitude
Experience:
- Technical or product support position: 2 years (Preferred)
- Knowledge in aftermarket 12-volt car audio / electronics: 1 year (Preferred)
- Understanding of vehicle electrical architecture: 1 year (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Travel: Up to 50%, mainly in the USA, both day and overnight trips to customer sites
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person in Novi, MI.
